Neighborhood safety on ISO App
ISO helps neighbors find each other — for ISO asks, Buy Nothing handoffs, and messages in-app. You choose how to meet and what to share. The demand-led reverse marketplace. Find what you're looking for, on your terms.

What ISO is (and isn't)
ISO App is a connection tool: posts, browse, and messaging. We are not a payment processor, escrow service, delivery company, or background-check provider. Any payment, pickup, meetup, or dispute is between you and the other neighbor.
Trust badges (Founding Member, campus email, verified sign-in) are helpful signals — not guarantees. Use your own judgment every time.
Meetups & handoffs
- Meet in a well-lit public place when you can (coffee shop, library parking lot, police exchange zone if your area has one).
- Tell a friend where you’re going and when you expect to be back.
- Inspect items in person before paying or handing anything over.
- Use your own judgment — badges and verified email are signals, not guarantees.
- Be careful sharing your home address, phone number, financial details, or verification codes in chat.
- Avoid wire transfers, gift cards, or deposits to strangers; scams often push you off-app.
Personal information
Be thoughtful before sharing your home address, personal phone number, workplace, or financial details in chat. Many neighbors arrange porch pickup or a public meetup without ever exchanging sensitive info.
Never share one-time verification codes, passwords, or full payment credentials with someone you met through a post.
Payments & scams
Be wary of pressure to pay by wire, gift card, or crypto before meeting; “too good to be true” pricing; or requests to move the conversation off-app immediately. If something feels wrong, pause and use the in-app report tools.
